Intimate Cocktail Style Wedding at The Manitoba Club
This gorgeous moody cocktail-style wedding at The Manitoba Club was truly swoon-worthy! Jade and Graham were full planning clients and we loved working with them every step of the way, from choosing the venue to creating the design and picking the vendors, we had a hand in all the details. They wanted an intimate mix and mingle night that had a high focus on guest experience and we sure delivered…if we do say so ourselves!
When deciding on a venue, we looked at several spaces with the couple, but nothing compared to the Oak Room at The Manitoba Club! The couple knew that was the only space they truly wanted, and they decided to use the room for both their ceremony and cocktail-style reception.
Flipping a room from ceremony to reception in 1.5 hours is not easy. However we worked alongside the MB Club and made sure the logistics of the room flip went smoothly. We had to consider the proper timing involved to make the flip happen and ensure all vendors were there on time to do the moveover. We also needed to have an appropriate space to fit guests while the flip was happening. Luckily we had a gorgeous galleria for guests to mingle in. During this time, guests enjoyed live music and passed appetizers, champagne, and craft cocktails.
With a cocktail-style reception, we followed the general rule of thumb, which is to have seating available for 50% of your guests. If you have more than that, some guests could feel like they were missed and not enough seating was provided for everyone and anything less than 50% and some guests can feel like not enough seating was provided when they desperately need to take a break from standing or dancing throughout the night.
Even though it was a cocktail-style reception, we decided to follow the proper dinner format, just in a reinvented way. There were appetizers during cocktail hour, food stations at dinner time, plus desserts, and even late-night snacks. Guests were constantly eating throughout the entire night and they absolutely loved it!
Jade & Graham had an October wedding and we wanted to work off the fall season and the dark wood detailing and moldings of the Manitoba Club, so we chose a more dark and moody colour palette. We filled the space with luxurious velvet lounge furniture, darker florals with greenery, and candles to really bring a romantic look to the room and it was truly stunning!
We loved creating this romantic, intimate, moody cocktail-style wedding at The Manitoba Club.
