A gorgeous tent wedding
in Manitoba
We had a blast working with Alysa and Jorden! Working alongside these two busy professionals was so much fun, and I am so excited to finally share this wedding that was 12 months in the making. When I met these two they had their heart set on a tent wedding in Manitoba. At Cielo’s Garden in Grunthal Manitoba to be exact. With only a location in mind the rest of the vendor sourcing and design was left up to me. After many meetings and getting to know this couple’s personalities, wants, needs and non-negotiable, we set out to plan their dream wedding.
We decided on unconventional bridesmaids dresses, because, why not! Don’t be afraid to experiment with different colours, patterns and texture when shopping around. If you’re willing to think outside the box the outcome adds so much to your photos.
For the ceremony we wanted to keep things clean and minimalistic. With such a gorgeous surrounding we didn’t want competing elements, but rather complimentary touches. I think we achieved this beautifully. While working with Floral Fixx on the floral designs we were mindful of what we could re-purpose at the reception and made sure the design would easily transfer from one space to the next.
At every event we always want something that reflects the couple. Alysa and Jorden are both doctors, so we thought the guest book table would be a great area to include that personal touch. We had prescription note pads made up so guests could leave their “Prescription for a happy marriage”. It was a fun touch and guests loved giving their words of advice to the newly weds.
For the reception we followed suit with the less is more theme. This gorgeous Manitoba tent wedding venue is nestled in the woods and we wanted to keep with that feel. We brought in some greenery to compliment the outdoors, had gorgeous custom runners (made by Melanie Parent Events) and used dusty blue napkins to give that pop of colour. We used gold accents through out which complimented the wood harvest tables beautifully.
We chose a sweet heart table for Alysa and Jorden vs. the traditional head table. It just seemed to suit them better. We rented a beautiful vintage sofa from the Vintage Nest and re-used the ceremony flowers to complete the look.
We finished off the night with an amazing choreographed dance that wowed the guests. Who doesn’t love dinner and a show?! These two pulled out all the stops to make sure their guests (and themselves) had a night to remember.
So much love went into planning this event and I was thrilled to execute this wedding. Thanks to our vendor dream team for helping me bring this wedding to life. We couldn’t have done it without you! Here is what Alysa and Jorden had to say about working with MPE:
