Moody Fall Wedding at Fort Garry Hotel
Stephanie & Andrew were style and design clients and we couldn’t be happier with the results of their moody wedding at Fort Garry Hotel! It was a beautiful fall day, which really fit the vibe for their elegant wedding! The couple fell in love with the work of a set of photographers from Toronto who travel the country so we flew them in and they did not disappoint with all the beautiful images they captured of their big day!
They had their first look at the legislative building. The grandeur of the buildings and concrete moody fall vibes were immaculate! The groom really enjoys cars so we rented a vintage car for photos which was such a beautiful personal touch! These two truly looked like models in their photos!
We booked the entire 7th floor of the Fort Garry Hotel so guests could transition easily from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception! The couple added a cultural tradition by performing a Chinese tea ceremony prior. This tradition is where the newlyweds show their respect to the elders in their families, and they, in turn, show their acceptance of the marriage. The bride and groom wear traditional Chinese wedding garments and serve tea to their elders while kneeling before them. It was truly beautiful to see!
We repurposed their ceremony arch to the bar’s entrance for the reception! We had a mix of harvest and round tables for their layout. The overhead shots that their photographer captured truly showcased all of the beauty and grandeur of the Fort Garry Hotel and how we designed their space! For dimension, we kept the centerpieces low on the harvest tables and high on the rounds. We used lots of gold accents, which was truly accentuated by the beauty of the Crystal Ballroom! We brought in a custom dance floor with the couples’ initials monogrammed in the middle and it was stunning!
