Mikayla and Mike at Novella Winnipeg
In true post-pandemic fashion, we had to make a pivot with this wedding. When we started planning with Mikayla and Mike, the plan was for their ceremony to happen at Bel-Acres Golf Course and the reception to take place at the couple’s property, but then we decided to make a change and host the reception at a brand new venue called Novella Winnipeg. The Novella at Collective is a clean, white, modern, and sleek venue which is exactly what this couple wanted.
They got to have two different vibes for their wedding by having the ceremony and reception at separate locations. The ceremony was a more romantic and woodsy feel while the reception was modern, clean, and minimalistic with some greenery to tie it together.
Mikayla and Mike wanted to tie the knot before baby #2 arrived! Mikayla was an absolute stunner at 8 months pregnant with their baby boy! They decided to go to Junior’s for a quick lunch with their wedding party after their ceremony. Cause Mama needed lunch and maybe baby boy was craving some delicious poutine too!
Their family and friends sure knew how to have a great time and they had a big dance party at the end of the night. It was such a fun environment to be in! They also took part in a prosperity dance, also known as the money dance, which is a Filipino tradition where guests pin money onto the couple while they dance. This is said to bring the couple financial abundance in their marriage.
What a pleasure being the first to host a wedding at the Novella Winnipeg! We knocked it out of the park in less than 1 month for these two! Thank you to all the amazing vendors that pulled together to make it happen.
