A Sweet Impression Wedding
When you dream of your wedding I’m sure you want it to leave a sweet impression forever. This wedding was no exception, but it was multiplied because this one was for Mike and Aynsley (Aynsley) the co-owner of Sweet Impressions bakery! We had to knock it out of the park and create the best sweet impressions wedding!
Aynsley & Mike were full planning clients so we were with them every step of the way! We had to have a last minute venue change, but in true pandemic fashion, we not only made it work, but we made it even better! That is another excellent reason why you hire a planner, as we don’t skip a beat to make sure your day is perfect!
Their ceremony was supposed to be on the rooftop of the Winnipeg Art Gallery, but unfortunately, the wind that day had other plans for us and we needed to move the ceremony indoors to the Skylight Gallery. It ended up being so gorgeous and cozy. The lighting from the skylight was perfect with the stone walls and their stunning arch from the Floral Fixx! We also repurposed their gorgeous arch after the ceremony to the entrance of their reception, because when something is that beautiful, you don’t want it to end, and it’s a good way to get your money’s worth!
The groom is a firefighter, as was his father before his passing, so we wanted to be sure to include a touch of that as both a nod to the groom and as a memorial touch for his father. We included a gold-painted fire truck on the guest book table which was so cute! Personal touches that showcase who you are as a couple are truly the best because why would you want a generic wedding?!
This couple had a cocktail-style reception where guests could mingle all night long! Even though guests are mingling during a cocktail-style reception, you still need to be sure to include enough seating so your guests don’t have to stand all night long, especially for older guests or those in heels! We made sure there was enough seating for 60% of the guests, which is a good rule of thumb to follow. With a cocktail-style reception, you must also be sure to have enough food for your guests. We had a variety of passed appetizers as well as several food stations so that the food was constantly flowing and the guests were never hungry!
Because the bride owns Sweet Impressions Bakery, she sees hundreds of weddings per year. We needed to go over the top…. The spread of treats was out of this world, and we topped it all off with a signature Sweet Impressions cake. Sometimes all you need is cake and love and this couple embodies that LOL! It indeed was a sweet impressions wedding!
The couple was on a cloud nine and we couldn’t be happier to give them that joy on their big day. It truly is a beautiful thing to be able to help couples take away the stress so they can enjoy the most special day of their lives! We can help you do that too, all you have to do is reach out to us here!
