We recently had the pleasure of orchestrating a Winnipeg modern luxury hotel wedding celebration right in the heart of downtown. The event exuded class and elegance, and the lavishness was felt throughout the day. It was truly something special.

Amy and Oliver were a full-planning couple who hired us because they live in Europe but were having their wedding here in Winnipeg. Residing overseas, they knew they needed a local expert to handle every detail, from vendor selection to style and design to ensuring the entire experience was seamless and stress-free. We were the team they entrusted to bring their dream wedding to life here in this beautiful city, and what a dream it was!

While they were busy with their lives in Europe, I was busy attending all the meetings and appointments for their wedding. Fun fact, I only met Amy and Oliver twice in person throughout their entire planning process, but that didn’t make us falter throughout this journey. They envisioned a wedding that was vintage-inspired, editorial and modern – a vision we were thrilled to execute.

We used the entire 7th floor of this stunning hotel, and it was truly a haven of modern elegance. With the ceremony in the concert hall, the cocktail hour in the foyer, and the reception in the crystal ballroom, the whole event flowed perfectly through this beautiful space.

The colour palette was white and minimalistic. It was a crisp and clean look that allowed us to embrace the natural beauty of the Fort Garry Hotel while customizing it to Amy and Oliver’s style.

We strategically implemented textured lighting, bathing the room in a warm, inviting glow to create a dreamy ambiance. The soft candlelight aesthetic enhanced the romantic atmosphere, making every corner feel intimate and magical.

One of the personalized touches we loved was the head table. Rejecting the traditional long head table at the front of the reception space, the couple opted for a centre table immersed in the crowd with all their guests. This perfectly reflected their personalities as they don’t like being the centre of attention and would rather have a more intimate setting, sharing the spotlight with their closest friends and family. This style of table felt less front and centre while still being grand and beautiful.

The floral arrangements were a work of art, featuring exquisite silk blooms that mimicked the beauty of fresh flowers while offering a lasting keepsake. They were modern-chic and oozed elegance; the perfect touch to the day. Adding to the vintage charm was a small, beautifully decorated heart-shaped cake. It was a sweet nod to classic wedding traditions. A show-stopping champagne tower added a luxurious celebratory flair that created a memorable moment for the couple and their guests.

The dance floor became a focal point throughout the evening. Its striking black-and-white checkered pattern added a touch of playful sophistication, and people were dancing on it all night long. A big thanks to the Big City All-Star band for that. Once they took centre stage, their infectious energy kept the party going strong all night long. The dance floor was alive with celebration from the first dance to the last song.

This wedding was a testament to the power of thoughtful planning and attention to detail. Even while communicating in different continents, we were still able to execute the Winnipeg modern luxury hotel wedding that Amy and Oliver were dreaming of. We were so honoured to be part of their special day, and we can’t wait to plan more weddings like this one.
