Being in close proximity just makes things easier for your guests and whatever transportation needs they may have. It is great for out-of-town guests especially as you can rent a hotel nearby or at the venue itself!
2. Catering, bartenders and dishware are all provided
An advantage to city weddings is that catering, bartenders, and dishware are generally provided. This means fewer vendors to manage and ease of mind knowing that everything is included.
3. Having 2 locations gives 2 different photo styles
Not all city venues offer a separate ceremony location, which can still be positive. When you have two different locations for your ceremony and reception you can get two different photo styles! This just gives a variety to your wedding photos that you will cherish forever.

1. Limited or no parking available
A city wedding venue generally has limited or no parking available for your guests. Which can create transportation issues for your guests and vendors. Make sure you let your guests know where parking lots are located nearby or suggest that they car pool, or take cabs.
2. Need to book a second location or pay additional fees for a ceremony space
When having your event at a city wedding venue you generally need to either book a second location or pay additional fees at your same venue for a ceremony space in addition to the reception room you have booked.
3. Having 2 locations requires extra time in between
When you have two separate locations for your ceremony and reception, you need to allow for additional time in between for transportation purposes. This affects the timeline of your day and gives your guests more free time between the ceremony and reception.
